Researching Dance: evolving modes of inquiry

I read the preview on google books, and found it interesting how the Author defines dance as
'Aesthetic historico-cultural movement performances'.

• Aesthetic
• Historic/Cultural
• Movement
• Performance

I was looking at my inquiries on 'dance' from

• physical (aesthetic lines/technical ability)
• psychological (concentration&confidence in relation to sports psychology/stage performance) 
• artistic (individual expression, mainly body language and acting in dance)
• marketing (promotion of ballet in the Asian performing arts industry)
• educational (Imagery used in dance education and training)

aspects.
My interests seem to spread out through the four categories of the definition above, but I realised how there are so many possible inquiries regarding the profession in dance.
